Spring-Summer 2019 - Collection Notes
Discover the inspiration behind our Spring-Summer 2019 collection.
The relationship between man and nature and the artforms that capture it influenced Clergerie’s Creative Director David Tourniaire-Beauciel’s Spring Summer 2019 collection. Vegetable-tanned leather, soft suede and raffia in a natural hue are used throughout this Seventies inspired collection.
The articulated sole is from an archival piece dating 1943 and initially designed to add comfort to an otherwise very stiff sole by Robert Clergerie in the Eighties. It is redesigned for the season on minimalistic no-buckle sandals in smooth calfskin, colorful crocodile print and white raffia.
The brand’s continuous search for the perfect fit led to Clergerie creating an exclusive memory foam insole inspired by athletic shoes. The insole is covered in lambskin and available on higher heels as well as flats. A new, transparent and light plexiglass heel is true to Clergerie’s sculptural heritage.
Clergerie’s signature raffia is used in colorful derbies, thick braided sandals and the new Aero sneaker which features a chunky sole and is also available in leather. Raffia is also used on an open-toe mule from Clergerie’s archives and platform sandals with a double buckle.
